I am a strategic human resources leader, certified coach and proactive business partner who is committed to supporting the growth and development of people and organizations.
My diverse background includes multiple career changes that have allowed me to continue learning and following my passions. I started my career in Finance, Accounting and Internal Audit, before moving into Technology Management roles, followed by a purposeful transition to the world of People and Learning in Human Resources. I have initiated many networking events to bring together business leaders and encourage dialogue around the ever-changing business world and its impact on employees. As a Human Resources leader, my technology background and business expertise allow me a deep and direct understanding of the goals and challenges of organizations.
I have earned numerous certifications over 25 years of coaching, including my Integral Associate CoachTM certification from Integral Coaching Canada in 2017. I am also certified to use psychometric assessments such as McQuaig and the Enneagram. My personal passion is coaching people, to help support their individual and professional development.
My business acumen combined with my HR expertise allows me to quickly evaluate an organization’s needs and find strategic solutions to the most pressing challenges. As a certified coach with extensive change management experience, I am able to help guide individuals and teams to make the most of new initiatives.
I work with business leaders to help them navigate change. Working within the business goals and strategy, we develop/revise a Human Resources strategy, and/or operational implementation of programs that run the full range of the employee lifecycle. This includes recruiting top talent to evaluating total rewards programs, deciding what level of performance management is required, career development practices, culture/diversity/inclusion, and coaching management and business leaders.
In the past 2.5 years, I have recruited a number of senior management level roles within the Ottawa area, building on and developing recruitment processes. I have acted as an interim senior management member while recruitment processes were in place to backfill roles. During the interim period, I have completed reviews in IT/Finance/Governance and/or HR and provided recommendations to the CEO to prioritize next steps on programs/initiatives that support the Business/HR strategy.
I’m an avid networker who loves connecting people and believes in the power of nurturing social networks to promote idea-sharing and innovation. I’m also a lifelong learner who has achieved four HR designations from WorldatWork and three from the Human Capital Institute. Personally, I’ve been giving back and paying it forward since my teens, including volunteering, leading volunteers and organizing charitable events for many deserving organizations. I treasure the time I spend with my husband and kids, our small extended family and wonderful friends.
